The long cheeks gently press against the sides of the muzzle during lateral movements and prevent the bit from being pulled through the horse’s mouth. The cheeks can move freely or be held in place using FM Keepers.
When keepers are used, the bit applies pressure not only to the corners of the mouth but also to the sides of the bars, providing greater control and pressure. The loose rings allow the mouthpiece to move independently, unlike a fixed full cheek eggbutt bit.
